Snow!

Well, this week hasn't been too exciting, but thought I'd let you know that yesterday morning we woke up to about 3 inches of snow...enough to cover the grass, make the paths all slippery and treacherous, and annoy me.

In other news, most of the freshmen on our team have managed to go out EVERY SINGLE night this week.  Unsure if this is an impressive feat or what.  Every evening they all spend about 2 hours getting ready and last night they trekked about in the snow.  Mary and I stayed in our beds where it was warm.  Also, it was Mathletes vs Athletes last night, but I haven't really heard much about it.

Jen gave Mary a lava lamp in our gift exchange, which is exciting.  I received a stuffed hedgehog, some plastic dinosaurs and a bendy straw shaped like glasses.  Otherwise the gift exchange was uneventful.  Clearly no one wanted to be there because it only lasted about 15 minutes.  So another fail at team unity.

Yesterday, Brooke, Mary and Ronnie went to the gym to do the bike/elliptical/swim/fartleck workout.  You were supposed to get to choose one so clearly they were going to do the bike or something.  Well, they got there and Cory intercepted them and told them they had to do the run.  So they ran 20 laps around the indoor track.  Meanwhile, I ventured down to the gym about 5 minutes later and somehow avoided Cory and got to do the hill workout on the arc-trainer.  Needless to say when I found out where everyone else was, I have never been happier to have done a hill interval workout.   So props to Mary, Brooke, and Ronnie for being troopers!

Well, it's time for Relay! Our casino night is Friday so we're getting ready for that tonight!

Love from Haverford,
Courtney

  1. Omg, I wanted to vomit when I read about those 20 laps. Leave it to Cory to make something optional...non-optional. I really do love the freedom of being abroad and kind of being a 'non athlete.' While i never want to be a NARP or FARP...its kind of fun to run to just run? Ya know?

Also, I really hope the freshmen do not find this blog bc i do not think they will laugh as hard as I did when I read that comment. That was my biggest fear when I left, that the freshmen would just go bat shit crazy. Fine...go out every night and drink your shitty Natty Lite! I will drink my amazing Guinness in memory of your dying college careers.
Anyways, I am sorry about the gift exchange :(
I thought that was a really good idea. What is UP with this?!

thanks for the updates! love, sydney

p.s. i am so pissed i missed the snow.

  2. I loved every second of your post, mainly because it was so Courtney. Ah I MISS YOU GUYS! I was talking to someone yesterday and was complaining that I have no one to complain with here. You know? Everyone is so freaking happy. Can't I just bitch once and a while?

Yeah, hopefully the froshies won't see this. Wouldn't count it out though. Sounds like they've been going out as much as Syd and I- except that our grades don't matter. Also, I love being a NARP too. Except I actually don't? I haven't joined the gym yet because I figured it would just be cheaper if I tried to do all of the running, etc outside. Which is so possible because of the park nearby. Except that I realize now I have no time to do it? If I wake up to run before class, its still dark, and that's sketchy. If I run after class, its already dark. And sketchy. So fail. I'm going to try to run between class. Except now its raining. So today failed too. I can't believe there is only daylight between 8:30 and 4:00 here.

    Ok, well, much love!!!!!!!
